Sailboats of all shapes and sizes are on display at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show. With many out on the water in Europe’s largest purpose-built show marina and even more on the shoreside displays, it’s the perfect opportunity for visitors to hop on board, compare and contrast different makes and models and even get in the water and go.

Buying a dinghy is often the first step in a sailor’s career and there is plenty to choose from at the show with Hartley Boats and Fusion Sailboats and RS Sailing showing 11 models including the debut RS Toura and the new 6m rig RS Aero. Topper International also have over 11 dinghies on display with their iconic Topper and Topaz range of catamarans ensuring a wide range of multi-purpose sailing dinghies to suit all abilities. As your boat floats around the world as it sails, stroll along the pontoons and climb aboard some of the world’s most prestigious blue-water cruisers. Spirit Yachts will be showcasing the Spirit 30 and Spirit 44, making their world debut at the show. Whilst the luxurious new Oyster 495, which was built in Britain and is renowned for her long distance blue water sailing capabilities, will sit alongside her beautiful big sister, the Oyster 595, on Ocean Shipyard’s new generation pontoons and Southerly 42.

The Inspiration Group is showing eleven different sailing yachts from 30 to 58 feet at the fair. These include the debut of the award-winning Hanse 460, European Yacht of the Year 2022; the UK debut of the multi-award winning Dehler 30OD and the UK debut of the Dehler 46SQ. For those who want a yacht built solely to their own specific needs, Falmouth based Rustler Yachts offer personal bespoke design and bespoke build to each and every client.

Even if you live far from the water, Boats on Wheels has the solution with the Astus towable 22.5 inch trimaran and Viko S1 trailer sailor range of yachts. Also easily towed behind vehicles are the traditional, handcrafted, British-built sailboats, often with brown sails and wooden spars, found in the Classic and Dayboat Zones. These include Drascombe’s Lugger and Cornish Crabber range, presenting their gaff-rigged Pilot Cutter 30 now with electric auxiliary propulsion options.

Whilst British built and designed yachts are widely available, there is also a strong international presence at the show bringing together yachts from manufacturers from around the world, all conveniently displayed in a single location.
